Summary
New Bern, Connecticut, lies under a blanket of snow, but Cobbled Court Quilts remains a cozy haven for Evelyn and her friends. Meanwhile, Evelyn's son, Garrett, waits patiently for his girlfriend, Liza, to finish school in New York. Evelyn wonders if her son should be so serious with a young woman just preparing to spread her wings. Liza wonders the same thing, especially after Garrett plans a romantic New Year's Eve--complete with a marriage proposal. Garrett is the closest thing to perfect she's ever known, but the only happy marriage she's ever seen is her aunt's, and it took her decades to tie the knot. Liza struggles with her own fears as well as the mixed reactions of her friends and family, and when she finds herself torn between a rare career opportunity and her love for Garrett, Liza must grasp at the thinnest of threads and pray it holds
