Summary
"'The Inventions, Researches and Writings of Nikola Tesla' is the record of the pioneering work of a great genius and inventor. During the early twentieth century Tesla blazed the path that electrical development followed for many years to come, and this book brings together many of the findings and theories that made him famous (and to some, infamous). This volume shows not only the scope of Tesla's theories and inventions, but allows contemporary readers to experience the amazing range of his thinking. There is great intellectual profit in studying a vigorous and original mind, and Nikola Tesla was one of the most energetic and visionary thinkers of this century. 'The Inventions, Researches and Writings of Nikola Tesla' includes lectures, articles and discussions, particularly those bearing on polyphase motors and the effects obtained with currents of high potential and high frequency. Many of his later dicoveries are based on these findings, and they afford a rare glimpse of a great genius at work. Nikola Tesla was born in Croatia in 1856. He emigrated to the United States in 1884 and worked for a short time for Thomas Edison. A pioneer in the field of high-tension electricity, Tesla made many discoveries and inventions of lasting value to the development of radio transmission and electricity, one of the most famous of which was the power system at Niagara Falls. He died in 1943" --, Provided by publisher
